Dyeing at the yarn stage, rather than printing on top of a finished carpet, is what makes a colour last. The pigment is in the fibre, so as the pile wears the colour wears with it instead of off it.
It also means we can match a shade. Bring in a paint chip, a cushion or a photograph of the room, and the carpet can be dyed to sit against it rather than fight it.
